MS. Sherry:
I have been working in ECD since 1996 with children from 16 months to 5 year-olds. I taught two and three year-olds and was Assistant Director. I was also in charge of their afterschool program. I have a CDA and am a licensed Director in the state of Texas. I have a daughter and a son, and a granddaughter.
I love working with 3 year-olds and seeing their smiles each morning as they look forward to what they will learn that day.
MS. LORI:
By the time I was 11 years old I was already babysitting 3 children. After graduating from Mineral Wells HS I went through EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) school. In 2000 I began my teaching career at St. Christopher Episcopal School, and with my CDA, taught Toddlers for 11 years and Pre-K for 10 years. I was the Nursery Coordinator for the church for 15 years. It's my third school year at Lil Goldman. When I am not teaching, I enjoy being outdoors and going camping and fishing.
I have two daughters, and a kitty named "Sandstorm".
Threes are big kids that are eager to learn new things every day. We begin introducing letters following the Handwriting without Tears curriculum. Children are invited to share items that begin with the Letter of the Week. Experimenting with different writing tools and materials gets us ready for writing in Pre K. Math is presented through many hands on experiences. The curriculum is emergent, based on the children's interests and needs, and incorporating the "My Big World" curriculum from Scholastic for Science and Social Studies. This program includes digital interactive learning, a monthly magazine workbook, and at-home activities for the family. We integrate Hebrew and Jewish culture in all aspects of the day.
